The Aurora Beacon News was first published in 1846 and is the oldest business in Aurora, Illinois. Now owned by the Chicago Sun-Times Media Group, the newspaper employs more than 150 people. The Aurora Beacon has been recognized by the Associated Press, Illinois Press Association, Northern Illinois Newspaper Association and the Chicago Headline Club as one of the best dailies in Illinois. The Aurora Beacon serves not just Aurora, but more than a dozen Fox Valley communities.
The Beacon publishes three editions: Aurora, Kendall County, and Kane County.
